From the Journals: DAY 47, April 11

Coach
Cataba Shelter - Daleville, VA: 17.1 mi
Started the morning pretty tired because a group of hikers came through at about 4:30 this morning. They were really loud, so we basically heard them coming and leaving for 2 miles. However, we did see an amazing view a mile into the hike that really made the morning. The Professor's feet are bothering him again, which made the last few miles into town a little rough. Luckily, Daleville was a gamechanger thanks to Madeline and her family. She made us a big pan of pasta, which we devoured with enthusiasm. She also drove us around to get all our resupply errands done. It made a big difference and we were able to get back on the Trail with some momentum.

Professor
My feet were killing me going into town. I was very worried because it was the same feeling I had before with hurt feet. Can't deal with it anymore. I tried on five or six brands at the Outfitters and settled on Salomon's. I hope this works...

Madeline was incredible. She was a game changer and gave Coach and I some momentum in town. Her kids put together Easter baskets for us! Her older son, Zabien, helped Coach and I out on our errands. She also brought us an Italian sausage and bowtie pasta meal with salad.. mmm. Coach and I also had a few beers with the guys (Youngin, Space Cowboy, Fosters and Victus).
